phpbb installing mod help

Hey guys, I am trying to install easy sub-forums and password protected forums and stuff, but I am having problems with doing so. I uplaod the files, go to the link it says in my internet browser, then I don't know what to do after that. I think I need to do something with my SQL Admin or something but im not sure, thats why I am asking. So if someone could give me a good explination on how to do this, or give me a GREAT tutorial, that would rock my world. I have just about givin up after 2:30 hours...

Do you need a tutorial installing PHPBB or making sub-forums.

phpbb is installed, but I don't know how to install "hacks" I guess is what they are called. So yes, if I find out how to add one hack, then that would be great because then I can most likely add more after I know what I am doing.

If you downloaded a hack from the phpbb website there should be instructions on how to install the mod. Also google for phpbbfullymodded I think its at phpbbfm.net it has all the mods installed on a phpbb.
