Info for people with PHPBB install probs

Hey guys i wasn't really sure where to post this to where it would be seen so MODS and Admins feel free to move this as you see fit. I have been seeing alot of posts made by people haveing issues with installing PHPBB forums. either they are getting a blank page or a Error with php Eval() . this is because with the basic PHP configuration that is set by default does not allow these functions. i would recommend applying for the type 3 php tho the forum will work with type 2. this Error also occurs if you have the type 2 or 3 if you have recently added a new subdomain and have installed your forum there. this is because the update scripts that change you php configuration are only run once every hour to keep server load down. This post does not only pretain to PHPBB but most CMS systems as well as just about every php open source app out there.

Are you saying phpBB doesn't work with v2 of PHP? It worked for me. :O

PHPBB will work on v2 without mods but if you add phpbb portal or some of the other mods out there v3 is they way to go

yes but with enhancements to the code you do tend to have a few issues
