Need Help accessing site

I installed my site. When I go to the site, I get the .html page that is stock for pcriot. When I try to access the site throught index.php, I get:

"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@thecafe.pcriot.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

FOUND ANSWER!
Seems the apache handler was not working, so went in and added a user defined which duplicated what apaches said .php files were for...don't know why, but it worked.
