    could someone give me a few examples of CMS software and maybe some links to download them??

    There are probably others, but that should give you a decent list.

    Some use Drupal, some use Joomla, some use Nuke ... all depends on your preference and what you want it to do.
    I tried FutureNuke once. Its pretty nice, but time consuming to set up.

    It dosen't install into your computer as its not a program,you upload it unto your website and install it from there.

    If you are looking for free opensource CMS, you need not go further than the Fatastico, it contains quite a few CMS and easy to install.

    If you want to check it locally before uploading it, you should first install the ff: Apache, mysql, and php. Then check it by using http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1. Most cms are easy to set up, it has a setup script or php setup page.
