More help re creating folders please

Hi again. I'm in my file manager, and still want to create the following folders so I can install a guestbook from Stadtaus.com -

    /guestbook/
    /guestbook/inc/
    /guestbook/languages/
    /guestbook/templates/

Where, though, do I create them? The instructions that come with the script just say to create them "on the web server". The same instructions then say "with most FTP clients you are able to copy the whole script with all folders in one go". I don't know what this means.

I think it means that the folders should be made by themselves.
Like /inc /languages and /templates will be created on their own.
    I'm not 100% sure though.
I'm assuming you've already extracted it, to your computer.
In the folder are there more folders in it?

Yes, when you download and unzip the script from Stadtaus, there is quite a heap of folders and files. First, there are six folders - 'admin', 'captcha', 'docu', 'inc', 'languages', and 'templates'. Each of these folders contains lots of files.
Also there are 9 individual files that can be opened in a browser window - 'captcha', 'config', 'delete', 'edit', 'form_config', 'form_config_example', 'index', 'sign', 'sign_example'.

The instructions from Stadtaus for uploading script files to the web server are as follows:

Create the following folders on your web server (with the most FTP clients you are able to copy the hole script with all folders in one go):
/guestbook/ /guestbook/inc/ /guestbook/languages/ /guestbook/templates/Copy all files to their corresponding folder. Image files (.gif, .jpg, .png) have to be uploaded in binary mode. Every other files have to be uploaded in ASCII mode (text mode).

Any ideas what to do? Part of my problem is that the File Manager in x10 gives me so many choices of where to put the guestbook folder. Do I put it in my home directory (/home/me), or in one of the sub-directories ('access-logs', 'etc', 'mail', 'public_ftp', 'public_html', 'tmp' or 'www')
    or....
Do I put it in a SUB-sub-directory, such as the cgi-bin within the 'public_html' folder?

Oh okay. In your File Manager go to the guestbook folder. Double-click it, so that you go inside of it. Then just add the folders. So for inc, once your iniside make a new folder name inc. Reapeat the process for the rest ;)
If you need more help feel free to PM me. =D

Whoa - you've jumped ahead of me. I still haven't created the guestbook folder. Where should I put this -
    home/username/guestbook ?
    home/username/public_html/guestbook ?
    home/username/public_html/cgi-bin/guestbook ?
    or somewhere else?

Thanks, though, for explaining how to make the 'guestbook/inc' folder, and the other two, after I have created the 'guestbook' folder.

    (logging off til tomorrow)

All your publicly available files/directories should go inside /home/username/public_html

    So, it should be /home/username/public_html/guestbook.

Thanks Kaja. It's odd - sometimes the blue donate link appears, and sometimes it doesn't. I found it in the end, and donated to you and ctadmin who also helped me.

I won't close this thread yet, just in case I need to ask for more help with my folders.

However, if I decide to close it in the next couple of days, how would I do that?
