Local Host

If i set up apache mysql and joomla as a local host first of all will it have any effect on what is running or other programs that is in use on my computer and network.

and secondly can i upload to the remote server after my site is up and running the way i want it to on the local host

I don't think it's localhost anymore, i don't know about what it's like on your server but on Absolut you have to use "mysql.x10hosting.com". (i think it's like that) :/

well you would nedd to install php but it is really hard to configure but i would reccommend using wamp server it installs everything you need to use localhost.

you are talking about setting up Apache on your PC rite, just to clarify.
I currently am running XAMPP on my PC, and it doesn't affect any of my programs,
and yes you can upload it to x10, just FTP the whole website you create on localhost, over to your public_html dir. I am not sure if there is any automated way tho
