I have recently decided to set up a website, with the help of the joomla cms. Unfortunatley after uploading the files, I can't seem to get the installation to start. I checked the user manual to no avail.
Thanks.

what is your PHP version, For proper working of Joomla you need Intermediate PHP version. You can check this at http://x10hosting.com/account
If the above information is correct then you should check the files you uploaded, sometimes you have missed some files like index.php (which you may already have in the folder where you uploaded Joomla! and was not over written by joomla's index.php)
If you are unable to install it by uploading the files and such, have you tried using fantastico in cpanel to install it? If not, login to your cpanel and scroll down and click on fantastico. Then, scroll down on the left side and look for Joomla, then install it via that. If you have any more troubles, post back here.

Yes the first thing to do is to make sure yuo have PHP version two okay?
If the problem persists then something else is going on but it's nothing big...
Thanks for the help guys, I submitted a request for intermediate php. Will post back after I see how it goes.
30 minutes later - I just tried fantastico. Seems to have installed but there is a php error possibly due to not having intermediate php. My request was accepted, just a matter of waiting. Here is the error:
Fatal error: SUHOSIN - Use of eval is forbidden by configuration in /home/r3ndall/public_html/libraries/joomla/utilities/simplexml.php(336) : eval()'d code on line 336
Edit:
It worked by using Intermediate php and Fantastico. Thanks for the help guys! Reputation points for all!
