how to delete posts

I have made a test post in my forum and I want to know how to delete it. I set the permissions to allow deleting of own posts. but when I log in and go to the post and select delete it says you are not allowed to delete posts in this forum. I have searched in the acp but I can't find away to delete posts that way either.

not sure what to do but I must have a setting wrong somewhere.

What forum script are you using?
And can you specify where your site is?

You should be able to do that from the moderators control panel or something like that.

I keep forgetting the link isn't the same as my site name Don't know why it wouldn't let me (I think there must me a length restriction or something.)

no won't let me there either.
I go to the MCP find the post select it then choose option delete post clik ok then says are you sure I click yes and the post is still there.

If it is the first post in the thread, it is possible you need to delete the entire thread...

I use phpbb3 and at the top of a post their is a button that will delete the post also at the bottom of thr topic their is somthing called 'quick mod tools' and if you select delete topic from the drop down box it should work.

I've tried that button dosen't work just says "you are not allowed to delete posts in this forum.

But if you read at bottom of page what you can and can't do it syas you can delete posts.

Dosen.t make sense.

Why don't you just use the ACP? Surely there's a way to delete a user's post in there. I know phpBB's in a bit of a mess but heck I didn't know it was that bad.
