Changing the phpBB header

Hello everyone,

I'm getting really confused with phpBB 3.0 Olympus. I'm trying to change the default phpBB header, but to be frank I don't have a clue where to start. I can change the colours easily, I just made a copy of the subSilver template and renamed it but for some reason I can't change the site header without overwriting the site_logo.gif file. I've done this, but my image (which is 120px wide, 100px high) comes up stretched.

I'll get a link up if someone wants me to, but I can't right now because I've just re-installed from scratch, I cocked up the style folder lol.

I'd prefer not to have to change my install if possible, I want to try to keep all edits to my /styles folder if possible, for ease of updates later.

Wait when you mean site header do you mean the logo, or do you like want to place an ad on the top of your forums or what? I don't understand x)

Both really. Ideally, I'd like a PHP include to run from my forums back to my main site, or just a header 100px high that I can easily update. I tried editing overall_header.html in the template folder (on my theme) and it didn't work.

Um for the logo you have to change these options

Styles > Imagesets > Main Logo

To change the Main logo you have to change the file that it is designated in

and to change the width x height use these options bolded


Image:
Include dimensions:
Selecting yes here will include width/height parameters.
Yes No
Image width:
Leave blank to attempt automatic detection.
Image height:
Leave blank to attempt automatic detection.

To place an ad, I remember I did it somehow manually but you can follow this tutorial made by Chris
