You can turn off hostname lookups in the admin area, under Features and Options -> Layout and Options -> Disable hostname lookups?
Check that checkbox. You should stop getting blank page errors without making any smf code changes.
I would probably guess that you have made a mistake in the edits, try to undo them and use the above method.

i tried this thread it didn't help, i edited the file it didn;t fix it and i can't enter my admin area because the forum doesn't work
Try to undo the edits and then disable hostname lookups, please note that disabling hostname lookups will take a while because most of the time you will get blank screens when you try to get to the admin area, but sometimes it will work. If necessary then you I can show you how to disable this setting from the database.

i did that it didn;t help wats weird is that I can acess the forum here http://sierri.net/community/index.php?action=forum
but not sieri.net/community
Are you using the domain originally specified during the install? That is a common problem, people try to use parked domains and they just don't work. You will probably have to back up your database and reinstall the forums.
Have you tried to reinstall the forum as gamerdude suggested?
You must have stuffed up some important code when you made the edits, you should Reinstall and then just disable hostname lookups.
