Hiya, I'm considering making a vista sidebar gadget that will allow those on vista to easily check whether or not their respective server is online as well as service status. Just wondering who would be interested and also wondering if anyone would know the easiest way to query the services, i was thinking about pinging the ports but their might be a better way.

pinging the ports is the only way to go. but you might have a problem with the SMTP status, cause the firewall always gives x10 problems. :D
