How to securing your awstats

Hey I just installed awstat for my website and I can see the stats like this:

http://www.mysite.com/awstats/awstats.pl

However it is open to the world outside and anyone can view that, how can I secure that. May be by putting a password?

Just use something like .htaccess and password protect it.

Otherwise, use cPanel's Password Protect Directory tool.
