    Anfy Java Applet Online problems

Dear x10 Team & Fellow Web Authors.

Perhaps you could help me with a problem: I wish to use some Java Applets provided in Anfy Java 2. They are simple menu, pan & zoom, and raindrop effect applets.

These ALL work perfectly when run on my hard drive locally. The links do not work when online until purchased - but I want to test it before I purchase it, which Anfy Java allows.

When I upload the HTML, JPG, CLASS and JAR files to the same folder, the applet will not work. The Java Console tells me the problem lies in not being able to open the JPG file the applet uses to create the effect on. I have tried modifying permissions, and checked the parameters/relative paths. The Java console, states it keeps getting a 403 error. When I manually try to link to the image using an absolute URL I get the same 403 forbidden error on my browser. When I use an absolute address to a TXT or HTM file in the same folder, they open ok.

I have put a test applet and html into the folder called java in my root (public_html) directory.

Note the image file collect2.jpg is not displayed here even though I can see it using the CPanel file manager and my Web Disk.

If anyone can help me fix this, and explain to me how, then I can get the rest of the applets working (only three), and purchase the software if it actually works.

Thank you for your time and support.

    MC David.

So you see collect2.jpg in the /java directory along with the other files when you view it through cpanel? Is that the *exact* name of the file? Do you have any .htaccess files in this directory or a parent directory?

Exactly. The JPG file is there using the cPanel File Manager as well as when seen in WebDisks. The Java subfolder has no .htacess file visible, nor the root directory above it when seen using cPanel File Manager. When looking at the root directory (just one level above Java folder), I can see a .htaccess.

Should I delete this - no knowledge of these files myself.
