    I need a ftp client

well, smart ftp is paid only now, and I need a new ftp program. It needs to be completely free. please give me website links, and no, don't give me filezilla links. i detest it.

if you can, send me a link to something similar to smart ftp.

I second that notion. It's an excellent FTP client that I use when I'm running XP.

Over on the linux side though, I don't need any FTP client (Gnome->Places->Connect to Server->FTP (with login)). I haven't gotten WebDav working though... :'(

Re: I need a ftp client

If I'm on Linux, I use FireFTP.
If I'm on Windows, I use FileZilla.

I would recommend both! I prefer FireFTP because it keeps the connection alive.
Use that if you have FireFox. If you use Windows and don't use FireFox, give FileZilla a try
If anyone can see it, my post was meant for anyone who reads it. Don't take it personally or think I'm being condescending...

Re: I need a ftp client

Did you know you can access FTP sites using Windows Explorer, it doesn't have the most features, but it can be very useful at times. Just go to My Computer or any similar area then type the address in the following format in the address bar :-

    "ftp://username:password@ftpaddress.com/"

You don't have to add the password in though it can be very useful. Hope I was of some assistance.
