Joomla portal?

Is there any way I can make a joomla portal? something similar to mylot.com? basically, I want my joomla main page on unfeatured.net to have a news sections (News being generated from cnn.com) a weather sections (weather.com) basically a portal like yahoo, aol, or mylot.com =] so what extensions do I need can anyone help?

yeah... you just add modules that grab RSS feeds. lol.

Short of getting the news yourself. there isn't a fix unless you use RSS.

1- a news rotator something like yahoo or aol a simple flash slideshow
2- draggable sections
just look at the demo and help me out to make my website as close to the demo as possible

Well I just did it in flash, first of all the news is not from a third party website, it's an RSS reader for my tutorials site -http://tutorials.sohailtech.com/ which is being renovated. Secondly, I know it needs more items, I am currently working on a project for the site so soon I will make a lot more widgets for the site.
