    Joomla 1.5.7

Will X10 ever support Joomla 1.5.7 via Fantastico or do we have to upload it manually?

I have been trying to install it manually. This is why I ask. I keep getting errors on the section where you have to state your localhost and databases.

If someone could help me out them I would appreciate it.

Fantastico is not operated by x10. Its a 3rd party program.
It would be up to them to add the new programs.

You'll probably just have to manually install it.

Same question as byite asked. What errors are you getting?

Installing Joomla! without fantastico is simple.

First, log into your cpanel and go into your MySQL area.

Here, you will need to create a database, user, and link the user to the database. If you dont know how, there are tutorials in your cpanel.

Write down this information because you will need it later.

Upload the joomla! zip file into the directory you wish it to be installed. Then in your browser, enter that url to the joomla! directory.

The page should display the joomla! installation. Just go and follow along, giving it the information it asks for.

Joomla! should isntall without errors. It will then ask you to remove your install directory. Do so. Then log into your admin section using the username "admin" and the password you told joomla durring the installation.
    Edit:
Just a quick note. Joomla 1.5.8 came out yesterday. So use that not 1.5.7!

That's good to hear - but you should upgrade to 1.5.8 that came out a few days ago and fixes some security issues.
