Cannot even log in to Wordpress

I have installed Wordpress absolutely according to the instructions. But I cannot log in to my own blog, to administer/customize it (invalid user), even though I'm using the correct database username and password. So, I've read all the documentation and have completed all the suggested troubleshooting ... to no avail. And I've re-installed the whole shebang twice!

Is there some mysterious secret way of doing this? How does one get the login to work?

Just an additional piece of information: there seems to be no way to register as a user. The blog itself displays no "Registration" link. Just a "Login" link. Logging in as "admin", or with various SQL, PHP, and IP IDs fails. "User registration is currently not allowed" is displayed, if one attempts to call wp-register.php. And the relevant login script shows "registration=disabled". Huh? What's the point of that, and how does one fix it?

when you install wordpress it generates an admin password, which you change once you log in once

did you upgrade your php to intermediate? if not go to x10hosting.com and login and request intermediate comment wordpress

well here r the choices you have ...

1st put in mind that you try to login to ur admin area ,

USERNAME : admin "lowercase"
Password : the password which firstly generate by wordpress unless you changed it
if you couldnt login then try to request your password , in the login area click on forget my password and you will get a link to reset your password and it should work for you , if that didnt work then you should to wordpress forums and search for a topic called "reset your password through phpadmin area"

Yes, this is the problem. I was about to post on it, but saw the other replies. Please reply stating if your problem is gone or not. so, I can close this thread if you are.

You must first upgrade your php version atleast to intermediate level by sending a valid reason like making a WP blog to x10.
then be carefull to note down the default password that is generated while you first install wordpress in which i failed during my first ever installation of WP
