Secondary DNS Server ( Backup DNS )

I would like to set up, basically, a backup DNS server for a web host I have. I know it probably is silly to set up a DNS server on a home computer for an online website, but at this point, if I can do it free, I would like to.

I've read about Backup / Secondary DNS servers and would like to set up one.

Can someone maybe tell me a good backup / secondary DNS server to use, or recommend a software I could use?

There is so many different types of setups, whether you are using Windows or Linux or Microsoft DNS servers etc... Could you be more specific and i may be able to get more information on it.

I am not certain on software of the server yet, but I believe it is unix based. My computers, if setting it up at my home machine are windows based ( XP )

I've just read a bit about backup DNS and thought it may be something to look into before I start this major project. (if I can get it free, anyway)
