Thread: Help please im trying to get my Video to play on site

    Help please im trying to get my Video to play on site

    ;) can anyone shed some light on why my MP4 video wont play on my webpage. It worked locally but just comes up with a question mark when i view it on my x10 site

    (the video file is 30mb)

    ALSO my second question was how can i compress it without reshooting

    You need to remove the ../ before the mp4 file name since it is in the same directory as the page where adding ../ will tell the browser that the file is in the directory above where the actual web page is so it comes up with an error

    <embed src="VTS_01_0.mp4" width="320" height="256">

    this should make it work properly now and not come up with errors.

    Thanks Nex you were right made the change and it works just takes ages to load any idea how i can reduce the file size as im using 'Cucusoft Video Converter'

    I have no clue for that program but try the divx converter when you download it comes with a 15 day free trial so you won't need to buy it immediately, that should help compress the mp4 to a smaller size, but then you will get a divx file instead so there might be some compatibility issues if people don't have the divx codec installed on there computers but that is a simple download to fix it all.
