Two blogs on same copy of database?

Im totally bugged with my blog due to misplaced <div> tags and whenver i install a new theme it mess up my blog. so i decided to install a fresh copy of wordpress and continue my site on that folder.so is it possible to connect to the same database for two different blogs because i want it to check whether all things going correctly and then only do the domain change.any help would be appreciative.

yes, it is possible, just remember that anything you do at one end will reflect the other

But when i tried to install another Wordpress blog after connecting with the database it says database already installed you need to delete the tables to install a new blog.
What shall i do?shall i need to directly edit the code that connects to the database in wp-config.php ?
