My sitemap overflow what do i do now?

im having a blog and its sitemap URLS now reached more than 530 URLS, i afraid that google start skipping the URLS after 500th index. so please suggest me a good idea to clear this.
Im thinking to create a new XML file named sitemap2.xml and submit it to google.
My CMS is wordpress is it a good idea to implement ?

That is the correct solution! Just split the sitemap into parts!!

Sitemap1.xml (300 urls)
Sitemap2.xml (300 urls)
