    Movable Type

Hi, guys. I really appreciate the x10Hosting service and now I'd like some help from you, please... :-)

I'm trying to install the publishing platform "Movable Type" on my account. I uploaded the /mt/ and its files to the root directory. I chmodded the directory /mt/ (755) and the .cgi files (666), but when I try to install it, the "500 Internal Server Error" returns. How can I fix it? :dunno:

    Thanks in advance. =)

Some scripts require Level Two (Intermediate) PHP that x10 provides. If you don't have that you can request it from your account panel (http://x10hosting.com/account)

Yeah, Level 2 is already activated in my account... but the error persists. :dunno: I really don't know what to do.

    Thanks anyway.

    Answer

This is a very generic error which occurs when a Perl script fails to execute. The standard things to check are:

    * Is the path to Perl correct in the first line of each script?

    * Were all of the script files uploaded to your server, and in ASCII mode? (Check for missing files and do not rely on an Auto-Detect feature for upload mode.)

    * Have you set the proper permissions (UNIX equivalent of 755; read/write/execute) on the .cgi files?

    * Is the version of Perl on your server at least 5.004_4 or higher?

You should also make sure you are running the scripts from a folder that is properly configured to run CGI scripts. If you have created a sub-folder in the cgi-enabled folder, you may need to set its permissions to 755 as well.
Try that. I'm not sure what version of Perl x10 is running...so.. idk
