    Re: ftp and htaccess

I have an .htaccess file on my site (free) and don't get any problems..?

The only thing I can think of is that the .htaccess file is preventing ftp access to the remainder of the site.

What path are you using as your root folder?

Just for info, an htaccess file controls access to various visitors throughout the site. The content of this file can be altered to suit. Don't just delete it without understanding what its doing!

Login to your cpanel account and click on File Manager Link. A dialog will appears. Select Web Root (public_html/www) and check the box Show Hidden Files (dotfiles). Now you will able to see dot files in the file manager.

    Try it
