These tips would be more useful if they specified the Operating System - so far they all seem to be Windows, not Linux/Unix or Mac.

Giving Reputation(at bottom of my post ) is the best way to encourage the person who helped you on forums.
for sensitive transaction like the one mentioned above.. i would use my own pc though.. not in public ones..
For Fedora And Redhat user TO VIEW NTFS PARTITON
1.Install this rpm http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/rpmforge-release/
2. Use yum install
Step 3.
Mount your ntfs volume. /dev/sda7 or 7 whtever it is in a folder .

yes the windows key + u u only works if you have fast user switching enabled
otherwise you will have to use the drop down selection
also doubt this works for vista/7
windows+m = minimize all windows (show desktop)
windows+e = open windows explorer (file browser)
CTRL+N = new webpage for IE + Firefox (linux/windows)
SHIFT+CLICK = open link in new window IE+Firefox (linux/windows)
alt-f4 close currently active window

shutdown in linux i usually just open terminal and type init 6 to shut down.... is that bad? heh
