1024*768 is most common screen resolutions these days and there is no default height

In my opinion, webpages should have a width under 800 pixels because not everyone uses fullscreen windows even on 1024*768. I for one almost always have my browser right between 800*600 and 1024*768.
I wish people would make more Fluid Width websites instead of worrying about making the smallest website they can possibly cram in order to satiate those with a small screen.
Ok thanks...
The default screen resolution for majority of the users is 1024*768 pixels.
Fluid can work, when ever I've used it, it has tended not to display properly. I always created my websites with 1024x768 resolution and have it display in a CSS container, that normally takes up most of the page. If it is viewed in something higher, then the area around the container expands. If its viewed in something smaller, then it wont work.
Good thing with fixed, is you have a good idea what its going to look like in a majority of resolutions, although IE, has a different definition to what a pixel means...
