    Nameserver and Hostname settings

I am going to be using a domain provider that have their own nameservers, so they'll do the DNS for the domain. What should I put in these boxes when buying the server. What would I do if I bought a domain from X10? Would I have to install and configure bind?

    Re: Nameserver and Hostname settings

    X10 nameservers are
    ns1.x10hosting.com
    ns2.x10hosting.com
Point your domain to the above said name severs and just park it in you cpanel.
Or else if are asking about Configuring A records then use this ip 74.63.233.25

I've not bought CPanel. (And I don't want to buy it.)
I'm just not sure what the NS boxes are actually for, as surely you would set up the nameservers to use for your domain, not for the server itself.

EDIT: Gone over your last post and just realised you think I am not a VPS user and am posting in the wrong forum. I am a VPS user.

EDIT 2: Just realised I posted in the wrong forum
    (Unless it's been moved?)

    Re: Nameserver and Hostname settings

Maybe this thread was moved. Not sure. But it is in VPS Talk now and it has been established that you are a VPS user.
Have you purchased your domain name yet?
If yes, where did you purchase it from? Different domain registrars have different ways of setting up and managing nameservers.
If I understand you correctly, you wish to use your domain registrars name servers and have them manage DNS. Is this correct? This is usually pretty straight forward, but as I previously mentioned, the exact procedure varies depending on the registrar. I am currently using namecheap.com for all my domain registrations. Unless they have changed procedures recently, you get setup with their nameservers by default during the registration process. And it is easy to modify that later if you need to. Hope this helps a little.
