Modifying MX Entries

MX entries are best described as a "signpost" telling the server where to deliver any incoming mail to. You can easily define your own using cPanel, usually in accordance with another email system, such as Google Apps.

  • To add or modify an MX entry, first login to cPanel.
  • Then select "MX entry" under the Mail header.
  • On the next page, you will see a list of your current MX entries. On the screenshot you can see one added for the Google apps service.
  • You can add or modify MX entries using the boxes and buttons.
