I don't know why you people download there software when it's at BETA stages!

They are so damn buggy, you'll end up getting 50% of the good stuff and 50% bugs XD

I won't get until they confirm all bugs are fixed :)

W7 is almost bug-free for everyday use.

Uh, yeah, but XP, 95, 98 , 2K, 3.1, Vista, OS X, OS 9, Linux, etc. all have bugs. What OS are you running then?

So I tried 3 Netgear pieces of hardware, WPN311, WG311 and the Wsomething N USB Adapter. None worked!
Netgear = overpriced, buggy, unsupported hardware.

Would be nice not to have to spend US $250+ for Win7...But I'm going to purchase the upgrade copy and just upgrade Vista.

Do you know if you can upgrade OEM versions of Vista to Win7 or do I have to have purchased a official MS copy.

Of course, you just can't use an OEM copy of Win7 during the upgrade. All the OEM means is that the ability to upgrade is removed pretty much, and it's cheaper ;).

I've noticed :rant2:

I have two Netgear wireless cards on some older PCs. They run fine but I removed all the Netgear software to run the card in the most basic mode. Frankly, I'd stick with Linksys if people hate them. Much of my routing equipment besides my home router (which is a PC) is Cisco/Linksys based. One of the PCs, gosh did I have a heck of a time using a Linux Live Disk to work with that card. I finally got it working though.

Also, word is out that Microsoft is closing off the downloads soon! Grab your download and key before it's gone!

I've been playing around with 7, and as someone who is a MS certified tech for vista, I've got to say I'm no more impressed with 7 than I am with Vista. I think Microsoft needs to focus on less ritzy stuff and more actual substantive stuff with it. Sadly, I don't see them moving in that direction for a long time.

I have had no problems for the past two weeks, but last night I kept getting "SuperFetch" or "PreFetch" errors and my Guild Wars was crashing, computer was rebooting on its own...I had my XP Pro disk in my hand. I noticed Win7 wanted 5 updates, one of witch was a driver update for my 8800GT, they all failed. I had to manually install each one individually. Finally I got the updates and I have not had a crash yet, lets hope the updates fixed my issue.

After a failed attempt with Vista, Windows is just going to throw another OS out there?

I have a Mac Mini. I'm not at home right now, so I can't get the specs. I haven't added any extra RAM, memory, etc. on it. So unless Apple started making them differently, I have the same specs as Mac Minis come with (although it was a refurbished system).

I've never used Linux, so I can't say anything about that .

I've been running it in VirtualBox for a couple months. Nothing major...just playing around...gave it 1GB of ram and access to my video card. Then installed Guest additions and it has been running really smoothly. I haven't tried to game on it or anything, though...could probably play HL2 and older games on it pretty well, I'd imagine.

Oh, I installed it on a new laptop for work. It seemed to recognize all the laptop hardware with no hassle. Thus far, I prefer it to Vista...seems to be much better about system resources.

Bahhhhh, forget Windows 7. I have removed it and installed XP Pro and I am very happy with it. Windows 7 could just not run correctly on my machine, soooo many issues.

A PC magazine here in NZ is including the Beta version on a DVD. I installed it on my laptop and it runs better than the version of Vista that was on it.

I am still leaving XP Pro on my desktop of course.
