Lol, everyone and his brother I talk to is hosting one of those parties. I think all microsoft is doing is losing potential customers by giving out so many free copies. How many people are you going to have at your party? Most people I know who are doing this are barely scrounging up the minimum 10 or 12 or what ever it is.

For sure, but think about how many people will be talking about it though... Very smart marketing if you think about the end product of their scheme.

I wouldn't have mentioned Windows 7 to any of my co-workers or friends if I wasn't hosting a party... I've prolly bragged to about 20 people in the past 2 days that I'm getting a free copy...Makes them sort of want one too right?

I don't think the number of copies they are sending out for free is going to effect their revenue too much :D (Think of how many of those people weren't going to purchase a copy anyhow...)

True...

How many people are you having at your party?

I invited 18 people and already 12 of them have RSVP'd. Plus, my friend Dustin also is a host, we are going to combine our parties and were all going to his place (bigger tv and deck).

I had to send a copy of the Windows 7 ISO to one of my IM friends last night as though he had gotten a key from Microsoft, he had forgotten to download the ISO (didn't have the time). But otherwise, Windows 7 will be here in no time now :)

I grabbed them and I left them.
They aren't compatible with my antivirus software, and not even with microsoft's visual studio.
Back to Linux/Vista for me.

What antivirus were you running? I am running Avast Home, Comodo Firewall, and Malwarebytes on demand and they all work perfectly! Plus, Windows 7 is snappier and works much more efficiently than Vista, and I get things done easier too. :) Man do I love jumplists and the new taskbar!

I don't think he counts...he got it because he complained and I guess Microsoft felt sorry that they could support the Caribbean so they gave him the pack. My pack's not supposed to arrive until October 7th.

The site said "by October 10th" for me, I hope I get it earlier :D

I've already received my full version of Windows 7 Via Fedex.( I am a Microsoft Certified Beta Tester) I can say it's great. Still a few bugs with the Sata HD install but the install utility automatically fix's it.

My Dad has been working with 7 for a couple months now (he's in one of the companies they were shipped to.) and he is not sure if we should get it.

I've been fortunate enough to be running the 64 bit Windows 7 Professional (the full retail version) for a little over 1 month now due to the Microsoft Developers Network Academic Alliance (MSDN AA).

Best windows release I've ever worked with, and a refreshing change of pace from Vista 64 bit, which my new laptop came with.

I'm running the RC of Windows 7 x64 on both my laptop and my gaming machine. My party pack was supposed to show up last Thursday, but DHL got the delivery address wrong somehow (it's OK on the delivery notification e-mail, but they claim the driver tried to deliver to a house number ten greater than mine), and they haven't coordinated the redelivery yet. Not fun.
