What do you guys think? I might get one of these for college depending on how well it performs.

I think it would be really great like an iTouch except bigger and more powerful. Im not sure how I would go around transporting it from classes. It's about 10in by 7in so its not something I can fit into my pocket and it would be over kill to get a laptop bag. Also, it isnt running the Mac OS X, so you cant install programs on it, but you can install apps. So it is really just a supersized iTouch. Last word, I think this would be great supplement to a notebook, everything is stored digitally, never run out of paper, who needs a pen?, search.

Tell me what you guys think.

Looks like a nice device to have handy. I figured that Apple had a giant iPod up their sleves as well as the rest of the tech community. For being considered a Netbook, it comes with some nice extras.

For those wanting to know the specs of it, here is the link.

Let's see...

No multi-tasking, no Flash, no USB (only as part of the Camera Connection Kit), no physical keyboard. No thanks.

Look at the button compared to the whole thing. A touch computer with $500 equiped with e-reading. It's just like a netbook, without the keyboard, more expensive and touching.

Wow... this is a fail. No multi-tasking... this really is a fail. I would of enjoyed it if it's main purpose was for media, but I don't think it has a built in PDF reader. That is a real waste. Oh well, I see all the preppy scene kids and middle aged mothers lining up in front of the Mac store to say they are keeping up with the technology.... :thumbsdow

There is an app in the App Store which allows you to read PDF and Office Suite files.

My phone can do that out of the box (but not .docx files).

The particular app I mentioned however does support .docx files. I also forgot to mention that it works on iPods, iPhones and of course the iPad.

I think I'm right when I say it's the cross between an iPhone and an iTouch, minus some features, on steroides. Not worth it is my status.

Being bigger then iPhone is the only thing good about it. Bigger screen is always good for multimedia and Internet content.

After some more research I'm beginning to like it. If I need to be constantly connected to the internet and use all the web services and apps but I don't want to stare at my (relatively) small Samsung U900 Soul screen or carry my laptop or netbook everywhere this is a really nice, simple and elegant alternative. On the other hand imagine when showing your client a preview of his new logo or website with iPad. Fancy :)
