Hey there,

I am working with several high schools in my area to provide a new way of voting for various items. When trying to send invitations to vote for such items, the email is not actually sending. I've been trying to send emails from my hosting account and it says "sent" but nothing is being received. I am trying to send from "notify@ezballot.tk" which is an account on my account. However, I am able to receive email on the account.

I'm using LimeSurvey to send the emails using the default PHP email sender. However, I'm not even able to send emails usingt the webmail system in Roundcube. :/

Yeah, i need the email service too because i work with some schools too, And if the emails doesnt work i will make a bad impression with the teachers. No one in the world can fix this? Is it hard to fix? How long we have to wait to be fixed?

I personally would recommend using a different service. Especially if you don't have a premium hosting plan on this website. I use Zoho Mail. They give you 25 email accounts for free with 5gb of space for each. All you do is add their servers to your domain and that's it. You can also interface it with an email software such as Mozilla Thunderbird.

It's hard hard. It's not a technical problem that's preventing mail from being sent; it's a blacklist entry that's preventing your recipients from receiving mail. Getting off of a spam list (which is controlled by someone else) can take some time, and pretty much involves being audited (or at least providing enough information about your safeguards and policies to count as an audit). But as suggested above, if you have important mail, Free Hosting is not the place to be sending it from (there are transactional mail APIs you can use as well). (For that matter, running anything that's actually important on any free hosting provider, where you're gambling on everyone else who also got an account simply by typing an email address never to do anything remotely shady or stupid that might get the servers blocked by ISPs, etc., is probably not a great idea. The staff here go to great lengths to keep the servers as clean as possible, but Free Hosting means there's really no down side for the people who want to try things and don't really care about how it affects you.)

Yup. Not to mention the fact the main point and goal of this website is to host website and related services. Mail is more of a secondary service. So hosting on a premium service, focused on mail, that offers a free option, is a great choice.

I think I forgot to mention that we are a public school system and such services are not in our budget to install. Sending these emails is just a small part, that I came here to solve.

Therefore you have only 3 emails accounts max at your disposal. Zoho Mail is free. It provides you with more emails and 5gb of space for each. You do not need to pay a thing.

Zoho didnt work for me. I followed all the instructions to configure the DNS and the Mx entry, and no email was received through PHP. What a bad luck i have :(

Did you allow for DNS propagation time? It's not immediate.

I usually send just a few mails per week (~10) from php scripts in my site. Actually emails are not delivered.
It doesn't seem to be a blacklist issue because emails just don't arrive to the destination mailservers (which eventually might then refuse to deliver).
It just seems to be an issue on the x10 side (maybe the mailqueue of the server??).
Am I wrong?

It seems that i cant send mails from my hosting through Zoho using PHP, i sent like 3 mails yesterday and no one has been received yet :/

How are you connecting to Zoho in your PHP script? SMTP?
