Today I discovered that the university I work for is blocking my site. When I asked why, they replied:

Your site, mattt.x10.mx is currently hosted on 198.91.81.3.

This IP has a present threat reputation on webroot/brightcloud. This list is automatically generated and put into place by our firewalls at the University.

You can request this site be recategorized here:
https://urlfiltering.paloaltonetworks.com/testasite.aspx

If the engineers find the recategorization is true, the site will be unblocked automatically by the firewall on the next update.

Has my site been compromised, or has x10 been compromised, or has my ip recently changed, or what?

Thanks.

Hi,

On free hosting, accounts are on an IP address that is shared by other users on the server. There are usually thousands of users on a single free hosting server. While we are more than happy to deal with abuse on our hosting service, sometimes scanners like that will detect a malicious website before we do, and categorize the whole server as malicious. Unfortunately, there is little we can do about this, because these are third-party block lists.

Thank you,
