The new interface is very fine, thanks, but I cannot find how to configure the ftp client.

Using your own domain as host should work fine together with the hosting username and your password for logging into the controlpanel.

If you want ssl it should work with the server address, in your case x14.x10hosting.com

At the login page for your web hosting account, rather than clicking 'Open cPanel' click 'Quick ftp' below it. This will reveal the ftp login details.

Having said that, I can't connect using either of the methods suggested above either.

Do you get an error, if so what? I tested both options I suggested with my own account before posting, though I am on x11

Status: Connecting to 198.91.81.12:21...
Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity
Error: Could not connect to server

After further investigation it seems I can connect to the ftp server over a VPN, but not without. Maybe a DNS issue?

If it was a dns issue, you shouldn't be able to resolve the domain into an IP. More likely your IP is blocked for one reason or another (wrong login most commonly). I'll look into that.

I did indeed find your IP as blocked, for failed logins to ssh. That connection method is not available on free hosting. There was also a couple temporary blocks related to ftp connections.

I have removed your IP.

What errors are you getting, if any? I did not find your IP in the firewall so you are not blocked from access.

After reading your answer I went back and tried to see the error type, BUT now it works. Maybe the problem was due to the running process of moving the data to the new servers, and now it is over. Thank you for the help.
