please help uninstall drupal 6.x

I got this error message when i attempted to uninstall drupal 6

Warning: shell_exec() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/gingoog/public_html/prepare_removal.php on line 22

Please help me out to uninstall drupal in my site.

This is a very common error, it occurs because the shell_exec() function is disabled for security reasons, if you want to use the function then you need the advanced php version, however with most of these programs there is a setting like 'host name lookup' which you can turn off.

If you want to uninstall your drupal installation then you could do it manually through the file manager and phpmyadmin, instead of through drupals own system. Or if you installed it using fantasico then just uninstall it through fantasico.

im in the same case.
I installed Drupal through fantastico, then i tried to uninstall it through fantastico, but i get the same messge.
Can i uninstall it manually whith out a problem?

Well if I did it manually i would simply remove the directory via FTP, then delete the database and user/s through the cPanel. I never use Fantastico to install software because it doesn't give you full control over everything.

Thanks for your answer.
i did it manually(and i couldnt delete the "sites" directory, because of permissions), and now i cant install anything, because it tells me that i cant run two scipts in the main directory (public_http).
Could you help me please?

Whats your error message?
Once I installed Drupal on my account and that annoying sites directory is still there :(

Try installing it manually, that's one of the common bad loopholes in Fantastico, it's really better to your benefit if you install 3rd party scripts manually.
