I'm looking to migrate some of my servers off of Openshift Online, but I'm not clear on the compatibility of the features here.

I have my own domains and my own SSL certificates to go with them. What I need is free or affordable hosting to power them behind the scenes.

In Openshift, I set up my hosting servers (at: `foo-myaccount.rhcloud.com`), and then there are wizards to set up domain name aliasing and install my SSL certificate. The domain can then be reached by my free hosting subdomain (see above) in addition to my official DNS domain (`www.mydomain.com`).

Is this type of setup available here or in the premium platform?

How would I set up my SSL certificate?

Does anything special need to be done to receive traffic from another domain with my `subdomain.x12hosting.com` as a CNAME alias?

You can have what you need on Premium, but not on Free Hosting. (You can use domain aliasing by adding a Parked Domain, but it's quite limited. SSL is unavailable on Free Hosting.) You would need to contact x10Premium support for full details on setup, etc.
