To my surprise I actually really like DirectAdmin, however, whenever I try to, for example, make a subdomain, I can only use my subdomain (e.g. example.x10host.com) and not the custom domain I have set up with x10hosting. I have checked the domain drop-down menu on the control panel, but it just shows the subdomain.
If someone can help, that would be great,
Eddie

On top-right of the DirectAdmin homepage, you have a scrolling menu with "Domain". You should look by there.

Was the custom domain parked? If so it would now be listed as a domain pointer which doesn't have the options of creating subdomains.

You would in that case need to remove the domain from "Domain pointers", and then under "Account manager"->"Domain Setup" add it as a new domain. The domain will then get it's own public_html root to where you'd need to copy the files you want to relate to that domain.

Make sure to back up your files before making any changes as there has been reports of files missing after modifying domain pointers.

I was able to make a backup of my WordPress install using a plugin, then add my domain as a domain, delete the old domain and install WordPress using the app installer on my domain, but when I try to access the WordPress website I get a redirection error
at http://www.eddiestech.co.uk
Can you help me?

I turned off SSL on the domain and cloudflare if that would be a problem

The propblem appears to be it keeps redirecting between https and http eventually failing.

Also the source appears to come from cloudflares cache service, so if possible try clearing the cache there (I am not a user of cloudflare so I have no idea if that is even possible)

fixed the errors by allowing SSL with CloudFlare, but now my domain www.eddiestech.co.uk redirects to my subdomain eddiestech.x10host.com which I deleted in DirectAdmin. Why is this happening?

Any ideas? Was hoping to get my website back up soon. I understand you might be busy with other things, but even if you can give me a breaf overview of the cause and I could try fixing it.

Hello,

Have you checked the DNS in Cloudflare ?
You must have "Type: A, Name: your domain, Content: 198.91.81.YourX10NewServerNumber, TTL: auto".
And your SSL/TLS encryption mode must be "Flexible".

Turned off Cloudflare SSL, changed to the correct DNS server number, but now back to 'Apache is functioning normally'. I have purged and disabled Cloudflare cache, but that hasn't worked. Seems to want to go to https:// instead of http://. I have also changed the site URL in WordPress to http.

Any help to fix this will be great,
Eddie
