Its been occasionally mentioned in the forums,
and also @garrettroyce kind of hinted about the possibility of
a new account panel design. (I assume was for DirectAdmin)

Id like to make a suggestion if i can, to add something to the panel,
Like Cpanel had actually, an option to set your default file directory.
this would make it easier and faster for users to be able to access their
"public_html" much faster when they go into their files from directadmin.

this way all users could set the directory they want as their default.
and wouldnt have have to travel all the other folders to get public_html.

I dont know if its possible to do, but its just a suggestion.

The panel Garret is working on is the SSO panel, the behavior of DirectAdmin is not so easy to change I'd assume, but you could suggest that to their developers.

thanks Anna,
i kind of thought it was a different panel to, but wasn't sure.

i could suggest it to them, but it wouldnt do much for me.
as any changes like that are usually internal and not accessible by users.
unless they had admin rights. like editing default folder path variables,

i just thought it wouldnt hurt to suggest the option.

1 option i found that seems to work fine,
is bookmarking the URL to the public_html folder,
then saving the bookmark as like a shortcut to that folder.
that way you can open it in the same window or a new one.
in case anyone else reading this post wants to do that.

I could add a "jump to public_html" button, but I don't believe DA supports this normally.

that might work though, if i could get to it just with a browser shortcut,
you would think something could be done that we could add to the dashboard.
or like you said a button.

Users are granted a means of communication with any company (support) and the company is most likely going to help you see your ideas into a success. So, we just have to reach-out. I mean, I’m not sure how Staff can’t tell other Staff “yo users want a new button” but...

Let’s see.

As I already mentioned even just creating a normal bookmark and adding
it to your browsers favorites or your toolbar still works fine.
and works right after you login to your directadmin account.

it would just look better if it added as a button to directadmin.

the nice thing about x10 is that everything the owner does is tailored to fix the issues users are having. The number 1 issue is abuse of the server. It uses up all the resources for scamming or whatever, and just slows the server down for everyone. So most of this doesn't get noticed by the users, because they just see the server running, but that takes a ton of work. But, all of the other issues are all things that are developed in house to make things better. So, if this little button helps, then I'll definitely look into it. I believe if one person has this problem, then we have a lot of other people who just never post about it. There are like 10k x10 free accounts, and only like 5 posts a day, so for every 1 post, there's probably 100 people who feel the same way.
