Domain not up?

Hi,

I got an account two days ago and tried to accessing the requested subdomain (http://swappers.pcriot.com) on the day itself when bigguy approved it. However, I received a 'could not be found' so I thought maybe it's not ready. Tried it again today and it's still not working. Can someone else try and access it?

Also, these are the account details given to by bigguy:

Well ... from these information, I can't tell where to go for cpanel or if there's a phpMySql (or if I even have a database) available or any other tools available for me for site maintenance. Only thing I can do at the moment is ftp into the server using the IP. Without being able to access my domain, I'm not sure if I've ftp-ed into my account!

Bigguy tells me I can access cpanel via http://mydomain.x10hosting.com:2082 but I got a 'could not be found' for that as well.

Help?

you have to wait a bit for the domain name to go through the system
if you want to start work on you site do this instead

xx.xx.xx.xx/cpanel

repalceing xx.xx.xx.xx with the ip address of the domain.

then log in

if you need the ip adress check the pm bigguy sent you

pm me if you need any help

you could always try this http://yoursubdomain.x10hosting.com:2082 to get into cpanel. Once there use the supplied username and password. Does this get you in ?


EDIT: sorry I didnt get the last part of your message till after I typed. Let me check something.

Actually it's better to use http://domain:2082/, where domain is your subdomain then the domain you requested.

I'll look into it. But, most likely, it's just DNS problems. Although, two days is quite a while.

I checked the account and I can access cpanel from whm so I think its what Chris said just dns problems.

bigguy, Chris - I am still unable to access via domain name. I'm gonna assume its a DNS problem?

I tried accessing my site using the IP (70.85.87.52). It loads ElementFx.com's page. Is it suppose to do that?

ok the ip adress is for the shared server, im guessiong that the main site is element fx
it takes a while for the domain name to circulate to all the name servers

by the way if you want a free domain name for a year (eg. www.fun.com) goto freestarter.com for info

i got my doman name from them

dosworld - thanks for the info but I'm thousand of miles away from North America. That toll-free number is not even valid for me.

bigguy, chris - Can something be done about the DNS or am I suppose to just try until I'm able to access the subdomain?

Right now we have run into some server trouble, things should be ok after that. If not I`ll see what I can do or get an admin to look at it. The problems with the server should be fixed soon.

I can see it. You just need to create a default page.

Make an index.html or index.php to see a document instead of the directory listing.

Urgh! I couldn't even get the directory listing here! Must be my ISP. And now my account has been suspended!!! (odd that http://swappers.pcriot.com wouldn't even show me my directory listing but is able to redirect to the suspended page!)

Tried accessing cpanel but received a 'Login Attempt Failed'. Tried ftp-ing as well (which worked previously) and that failed too.

So ... what should I be doing next?
