reinstalling them does not help

Ok, I got it now, The front page means Frontpage application on your computer, Not the front page of your site.

Can you tell us what exactly it saying, If any error number is there then it would be helpful.
Which version you are using? The settings you set.

Server error: The web server at"'http://www.yourlifeandlegacy.x10hosting.com" does not appear to have Frontpage server extensions installed.

Frontpage connects from my pc to my website on a different provider from MY PC without problems.
It worked with current setting on chopin before the latest reconfig of the server.
mysite says it has frontpage extensions installed.
dropping the www. from my site name doesn't change the results.

^^^ I had exactly the same problem with FrontPage extensions and have reverted to FTP. I don't think that FrontPage Extensions are working on the "new" Chopin. I also had exactly the same problem with a site on another (paid) host and I think that perhaps FontPage Extensions are perhaps not compatible with later versions of Apache.
