Hey all - just a quick question here. My webmaster, who is far more computer literate than I am, is having an intriguing problem. He had no problems early this morning, and was part way through uploading IPB (around 8am EST) when his connection cut out. Note that his internet didn't drop, just his connection to the FTP/HTTP. Since then, he has been unable to access FTP or view HTTP. However, he CAN view HTTP through a proxy (none of which means anything to me, I'm afraid).

He said that he thought it might be a problem with his DNS screwing up, so we waited all day - it never fixed itself. If you have any ideas please share them...I can run a PB well but until it's installed I'm helpless! :fingersx:

Btw, we just got the account last night - the IPB was to be our first goal. I suppose it could be because it is a new account - I dunno, as I said I'm not that literate server-side. It is still not working atm (9pm EST).

Yeah, it's just Jim. He can't connect to the FTP, or view the HTTP except through a proxy. I can get into like the Cpanel and suchlike fine....although since I'm stoopid I don't know if that's even the same thing :hahano:

whats the name of your website,
you can pm me your cpanel info, pass and username, don't worry,
I can be trusted, I going to look at your ftp thing then
I going to see why you can't connect

try this
FTP://youwebsite.x10hosting.com

USERNAME : you@yourwebsite.x10hosting.com
PASSWORD: you know it, it's case sensitive
like FooDeats2 is not the same as foodeats2.

PM'ed.

This is what Jim said he's thinking:

it's either their server blocking my IP (range?) or my ISP blocking my connection

Try to PM me his IP address, if that's possible. The server's firewall might have blocked it.

I tried with proxy and it works.

but I added a index.html to fix your page, look & read,
Hey Bryon, the ftp is the problem for
http://ooc.exofire.net

go to
http://ooc.exofire.net , and read instructions, http is not down,
you can find that out by reading Bryon's convienent sig, that I love.

Or go to
http://forums.x10hosting.com/showthread.php?t=13706
to find out whats up or down.(i don't know, bryons sig seems to work, I saw it said http down hours ago and it was telling the truth.

ImperialPhoenix:

Nope, it wasn't that. Before I got the error, I could see the index and connect to the FTP, now I can't b/c it's blocking me.

I'm in FTP logged in as the main user.

You better fix up your page and the forum.
or delete everying in the database having to do with the forum
BUT FIRST BACK UP THE DATABASE ON YOUR COMPUTER,
then delete the database having to do with the forum and make a
RE INSTALL.
