After now being migrated to x13, my website is working but the domain is missing from the admin panel and when I try adding it fresh it tells me it already exists! Without having the domain on there I cant fix my emails

Any ideas please

If it was a parked domain prior to the migrations it would now be a domain pointer, which is not a full domain in such way that it can have email accounts and such, the more typical use would have been for adding a common misspelling of a domain for instance.

You would need to remove it from domain pointers and then under domain management add it as a new domain. Do note though that some users has reported that messing with the files so for your own safety make sure to backup your site before making the changes.

The added domain will have its own root to which you need to copy the files as well, such as domains/<domainname>/public_html

Anna, thanks for the reply but was already an addon domain and as a consequence I already have the html files for the domain which I can see under file manager!

It was never a parked domain so I cant remove anything. Any idea what I can do next to get this sorted

Ok, then the reason for it to say it exists is likely that the folder for it already is in place, if you'd just rename that to have an extra letter you should be able to add the domain properly.

If that still fails, let me know the domain and I'll investigate further.

Sorry, what am I renaming? If I rename any file associated with the domain, will that not then stop the website from working?

Sorry, I've not had to do anything like this before and am just trying to get my emails working.

Everything else is running perfectly though.

Thanks again for your time

If you look in filemanager, under domains, is there a folder with a name corresponding to the domain you want to add? If there is that is what is preventing the domain from being added, the solution is to rename the folder.

Once the domain is added you should be able to remove the new, empty, domain folder and change the name back for the one your files are in.

Good Morning Anna,

Having tried what you suggested, I am stilll faced with the issue that this domain already exists. Is there anything else I could try?

Regards

Anybody??

Also, as side note, I can now access my emails in a roundabout way Outgoing emails work fine, incoming emails, not at all

This whole saga is starting to really frustrate me

I have sorted the domain for you, once you confirm that everything works you can remove the folder "teamstreams.tk_backup" under "domains"

You will need to tell wordpress to not use https (it is not supported on free hosting, and apache doesn't like https without a certificate and thus gives that message)

There are a couple options for doing that, see this article for how to do it by editing a file: https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-the-site-url/

Optionally if you are comfortable with it you can edit the values for "siteurl" and "home" in the database, you'll find them in the table xx_options (where xx represents the prefix you have, often wp).

I found the last part to sort, there were also a redirect in .htaccess that went from teamstreams.tk to https://www.teamstreams.tk (for that type of redirect you could have omitted the https:// part and just used the www.teamstreams.tk). I changed it to http:// and it now the site loads up for me.
