    3 questions:

    1. How do you find out which server you are on? (I think I am on Stoli, as I have heard the name before, but I'm not certain)

    2. Is this the solution to the "General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ] Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) [2002] An sql error occurred while fetching this page." problem?

and 3. If it is, what should I do for phpBBv3?

    Thanks.

I tried that, but there is no section in config.php that mentions localhost...

However, there is also no url for the database, should I change that instead?

I can't put anything in the Access Host: I try
    %.x10hosting.com
    stoli.x10hosting.com

    "%.x10hosting.com"
    "stoli.x10hosting.com"

    '%.x10hosting.com'
    'stoli.x10hosting.com'

Everytime it say to me: Added Host ******* to the access list BUT my access list is empty.

    Suggest?

    Hi guys,

I can't seem to create another MySQL database through Cpanel. I've got 2 already but it says I can create 3. Any ideas why it isn't working?

    Thanks

Umm... I don't actually know. My friend downloaded it for me and then sent it to me, so...

I would give you a link to the forum itself to see if you could work it out, but it isn't working right now anyway. It worked for a while, but the same error is coming up again so I really don't know what is going on.

So after reading every post to make sure i have not missed anything, here is my current situation.

Have changed the "localhost" in my config.php for joomla
Have added %.mysql.x10hosting.com and just mysql.x10hosting.com (for some reason when i tried adding stoli.mysql.x10hosting.com, just to try, it added absolut instead.
    So i have

    %.mysql.x10hosting.com
absolut.x10hosting.com (no idea why its there, because i did not add it)
    mysql.x10hosting.com

and what looks like 2 differant shared ip addresses from the servers, and a local one. the main index works, if i pull up the site, but to try and navigate anywhere else is a big fat 404. Any suggestions?

It should be just %.x10hosting.com as an access host in your remote mysql section of your cpanel. Not %.mysql.x10hosting.com

Alright changed the %.mysql.x10hosting.com to the %.x10hosting.com as suggested. And am still having the same problem, i can connect the admin section of my joomla, edit etc, and load the main page, but if i try navigating anywhere else in the site still a 404.

I don't even see an index on your page. That tells me that you don't have the files installed properly. Make sure that if you are installing joomla via "Fantastico" that you leave the install directory blank.
