i uploaded a site recently and i have a new updated one so i uploaded that one ( they have the same name) and for some reason it shows the old website so i deleted the homepage and everything and it still wont go away

Reset your cookies on your browser. I think that'll do it.

Try going on your FTP and re-naming the file of the old index.htm
Like call it Indexfail.htm or something.
