Re: Safary browser now on Windows

My version doesn't work... There isn't any text anywhere.

Re: Safary browser now on Windows

I have run into a few viewing problems with it, but other than that, "I'm loving it!" - Hmm..hope McDonald's doesn't get me for that one.

There are already vulnerabilities for it. But it's a beta, so I'm not complaining. Safari has completely emulated the OS X look; even the dialogue boxes that fold out.

And this private browsing feature, huh? Safari'll be great for my... er... iPhone development. Yeah.

More specific information regarding the security issues. Regardless, anything is better than IE. Don't plan to get Safari as it is my nature to dislike most Apple products and "innovations"; plus, Firefox works great for my daily usage and doesn't need any changing!

Safari allows people on windows to come closer to the Mac experience. The buttons and the scroll bars look much better. Safari is in for the looks department but function wise still lots of treawking to be done.

I'm posting from it right now.

The viewing pane is nice and big. But nothing I couldn't get with either FF or IE.

Selected boxes have a nice blue border, option boxes have a decent blue gradient on the side, scrolling, for me, is better than firefox.

But its pretty "meh" overall. Text looks totally ****ed up. The posting box is broken on here.

God, and I HATE the grey Itunes look (maybe thats the whole Mac OSX look, I dunno, just reminds me of itunes).

Its a step in the right direction though for Apple.

OSX for most people isn't an option since they A: have a computer that works perfectly fine already and don't want to buy a new one B: can't install OSX on their existing PC.

Meh, I'll keep the install until my next program clear-out. Can't say i'll find a use for it, given there are 2 better looking, more familiar alternatives.

That grey itunes look is indeed the Max OSX look! Ive used a mac for a a few months now at uni and you get used to it but its a fairly dull look.

The Mac OS X look is LIKE the iTunes look, but with less grey. And more transparency.

And the text rendering is OK; I have no problems with it.

I'm using it now, since my video card is busted, and safari works best without my video card, so mind as well use it.

I just love the search function on safari, since firefox had the inline search.
And Safari's search is a bit better than opera, since it's based on spotlight.

So guess safari just use some of firefox and opera's search ideas and put some the mac osx twist to it.

But sometimes it cant process certain pages, like downloads. so i have to use FF for that.
