They did on xo2 where they left AutoSSL running so it had the cPanel certs being issues.

you didnt read the post right, i said i use the free ssl on a paid server.
using free ssl does not mean you have to have a paid website to use it.
anyone can use it for free.
You actually misread my post. Keyword is “paid server” not a free one. That was what I said in my earlier post

No. Not supposed to be allowed on free accounts. It’s actually disabled via DirectAdmin on free accounts.

but that is not true. you can use free ssl on any website with a file manager.
there is multiple ways to install ssl. the website has many tutorials on that.
That came from x10 Support themselves when I asked them directly. SSL for the domains themselves is not included on free hosting accounts. The SSL Settings in DirectAdmin are set to use the actual server cert only and nothing else. It’s fully disabled for free hosting accounts. The only alternate way is by using Cloudflare to issue the SSL from accessing free accounts via Cloudflare Edge Servers, even at that needs the proper setting so it doesn’t crash and burn.
I also notice you said you’re a paid account. If I’m going by what the announcement is saying, shouldn’t you still have cPanel?

But i should correct myself and say the free ssl should work on x10 hosting.
BUT i cannot confirm it yet as im still waiting for the migration on x05
servers. so i cant do much until i get into directadmin and see for myself.

Just wanted to clarify that last part. TOS isn’t going to state what is or isn’t included in the free accounts, it’s saying here are the rules, you break them, we kick you off, such as hacking, circumvention, etc. The last time I directly emailed about it was a year ago, and they said no.
SSL for free will still work in the form of you being able to get the cert downloaded, but sadly the only steps publicly known is through DA SSL Manager which x10 recently ensured it was disabled by them across all servers, when it was initially enabled.

using the free ssl, you can download the files from them,
then upload them to your website, like you do any other file,
then you can manually verify your website domain name.
dont try to auto-detect or anything, do it manually.
but trying to use directadmin to update them wont work,
you have to do the same process each time when you renew it.

ill just say you guys are lucky to have been migrated already.
im still waiting for them to do x05...then ill probably have the same
issues to deal with. (unless they have it fixed by the time they do x05)

I wouldn’t be surprised if they temporarily halted migrations to fix these issues so future migrations wouldn’t show these issues.

@mycoo368 the only way to get legitimate HTTPS and thus SSL through having your website proxied though Cloudflare servers. since the edge servers for Cloudflare can be used to serve your website with a valid SSL certificate the connection is done through HTTPS. however do note that since we do not have an SSL certificate on the origin server in our case x10Hosting servers. the connection from Ckoudflare's edge servers to the origin server is not secured

Already knew that. I thought it was slightly secured, still not as secure as having a full SSL, through Railgun when they were doing that.
Also, wanted to add that some x10 servers block the bots used by SSL For Free.
