Hi moongya,

in your cPanel, you have an option to configure email address and access webmail through Horde or Squirrel Mail. These are the webmail features provided with free hosting accounts.

the thing is I want to continue using my Registrar's DNS..it is reliable.. m not doubting x10's DNS, but i want to stick to the existing DNS as I have other sub-domains' records on it...Also, I have availed mail hosting from another provider, and I want this hosting to be back up, in case that mail server is down...so i will add mx records for this hosting to the existing records in my current server..

So, please tell me the mx n A records. tnx

tell me if m wrong, shouldn't mx record be like mx.(hoting provider's domain name) for example mx.google.com...?? mx record can not be just an ip address.. or m missing something

also, knowledge-base says:

Some domain registers ask for the nameservers' IP address, these are as follows:
ns1.x10hosting.com = 208.43.202.204
ns2.x10hosting.com = 67.228.168.189

so which IP should i use 74.63.233.3 or the knowledge base one?

Background of my situation:

- I have registered for a free hosting package with domain name test.amitlele.com.

- I am going to use my Registrar's DNS, so I would not be changing my name servers to ns1.x10hosting.com = 208.43.202.204
ns2.x10hosting.com = 67.228.168.189

- I created an email address admin@test.amitlele.com and added mx record in my DNS as mx.x10hosting.com

Now, when I try to send mail to this email (admin@test.amitlele.com) I get this error:

Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550-The mail server could not deliver mail to admin@test.amitlele.com. The
550-account or domain may not exist, they may be blacklisted, or missing the
550 proper dns entries. (state 14).


I need help on following issues:


* mx record for my domain name test.amitlele.com

* I have deleted previously created email addresses but control panel still shows as me using 5 out of 5 of my assigned emails and I get signed out of admin@test.amitlele.com immediately after logging in?

* how to locate my default email address? which is presume is catch-all email

mx.x10hosting.com is not mx record.

I re-read your earlier post and realized my mistake, so i modified the mx record to test.amitlele.x10hosting.com...but still the same error...

also, while sending mail from the web interface i get error {Connection timed out
110 Can't open SMTP stream.}

also, ans my earlier questions as well plz.

test.amitlele.x10hosting.com and amitlele.x10hosting.com shows the domain available page.

so these are not your main domain. make sure what is your main domain.

go to http://x10hosting.com/panel.php

there you will find your main domain.

Red mark in attachments is your main domain

Change it to amitlele.x10hosting.com by clicking of modify your account in account panel and wait for some minutes.

When you see amitlele.x10hosting.com as your main domain. Then add mx record to amitlele.x10hosting.com from domain registar.

and then go to cpanel and park your test.amitlele.com domain here...

I send a mail contain "Hello" to admin@test.amitlele.com and hotmail show me it is delivered successfully....
