You need to give us more details. What steps did you take?
What version of php was WP running on, on the old server?

/home/tommasop/tommasopolonini/wp-settings.php

I like mine like this...
/home/username/public_html/website-example/...

1. I'd start by getting your public site and files in the safe public_html folder
2. In phpMAdmin, check all paths are correct in the WP "options" tab.
3. If needed, edit wp-config.php ... data base, user name, password.

Is the old site still accessible from a subdomain? If so, the WP plug in "all-in-one WP migration" makes life easier.

First of all, thank you very much for the promptness in responding. I only noticed now that the ftp didn't copy all the files on the HOST. So now I'm reloading and I'll update you soon. Thank you!
