files in .trash gone, only directorys remain

I used to store some old files and directorys in the .trash folder as some soft of achieve.
However when the migration begins, I went checkout those files and directorys, all the files are gone, in both new DirectAdmin and old cPanel server. Only the directorys remain.

Are those file lost in the migration or they have been lost long gone ago?
I understand free hosting comes with no backups...

Since that folder is the "trashcan" of cPanel's filemanager I'd say there's a high probability it was emptied automatically at some point or as part of packaging the account up for transfers at the latest.
